Supplier matching

Put framing, cladding, anchor assemblies, engineering and freight on separate rows. Record revisions and exclusions beside each price so a change to wall panel thickness can be traced.
Arrange review samples of cladding profiles, colors and coatings. Ask the supplier to identify the matching specification and batch basis. A small sample helps compare finish and profile. The assembly still needs its own project review.
Agree who witnesses fit-up or coating checks and who signs disposition of a deviation. The buyer or appointed inspector sets the acceptance criteria and decides whether a finding closes.
Check piece marks against packing lists and group connection hardware by erection sequence where the purchase order calls for it. Label any loose boxes that will need separate tallying.
Review supplier shipment records against the agreed delivery term and consignee details. Have the forwarder verify equipment availability and cargo dimensions before booking.
Quoted freight for a bolted kit may reflect denser bundles and fewer oversized pieces. A welded assembly can reduce some site fit-up while adding handling and transport constraints. Compare both on the same delivery boundary and include what the erection crew will need.
If the steel grade, coating system or fastening method changes, ask for the affected drawing and bill of material revision. Document the commercial effect and route any technical concession to the responsible engineer before marking the quote as aligned. For example, a shop may propose Q355 plate where a bid requested S355. Record the full grade designation, plate thickness in mm, the heat number and the mill certificate revision. The engineer can then decide what supporting records or revised connection calculations are needed before the affected members are released. Manufacturing and certificates remain the selected supplier’s responsibility.
Tell us which inputs are fixed and which are awaiting an engineer or forwarder. That distinction helps keep early supplier offers comparable.
